شاركت نقابة المهندسين العراقية (المركز العام) في بغداد وفرع نينوى، يوم الخميس الموافق 16 تموز 2026، في فعالية إطلاق مسابقة “المنزل الأخضر” التصميمية التي أقيمت في محافظة نينوى (مدينة الموصل)، ضمن مشروع “بناء التحول العادل والشامل” (بيت BEIT) الذي ينفذه مركز التجارة الدولية بالشراكة مع مؤسسة فضاء الموصل للتنمية “موصل سبيس” وبتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي وبأشراف بعثته الى العراق.
وشهدت الفعالية حضور ممثلين عن وزارة التخطيط، ووزارة الإعمار والإسكان والبلديات والأشغال العامة، وزارة التجارة، وزارة الزراعة، ومركز التجارة الدولية، إلى جانب وفدي نقابة المهندسين العراقية من المركز العام وفرع نينوى.
ومثّل المركز العام في بغداد كل من الدكتور المهندس زيد عز الدين محمد نوري، نائب نقيب المهندسين العراقيين، والدكتور المهندس عادل حسن النعيمي، رئيس لجنة النشاط الثقافي، والمهندس يحيى سامي الطائي، مسؤول ملف الشراكات والتعاون الدولي في المركز العام وعضو لجنة النشاط الثقافي.
كما مثّل فرع نينوى كل من المهندس الاستشاري وليد سعدي حسن النعيمي، رئيس الفرع، والمهندس الاستشاري محمد عبد الحميد الراوي، أمين الصندوق وعضو مجلس الفرع، والدكتور المهندس بسام إحسان الحافظ، رئيس قسم الهندسة المعمارية في فرع نينوى.
وألقى نائب نقيب المهندسين العراقيين د. زيد عز الدين محمد نوري كلمة النقابة، مؤكداً أهمية مسار التعاون المؤسسي القائم منذ ما يزيد عن عام مع مركز التجارة الدولية وبعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي إلى العراق ضمن مشروع بيت. وأشار إلى أن هذا التعاون أسهم في تنفيذ أربع دورات تدريبية تخصصية ذات جانب عملي تطبيقي، مدة كل منها أربعة أيام (16 ساعة تدريبية)، في مجالي تدقيق الطاقة وأنظمة الطاقة الشمسية، وتخريج أكثر من 260 مهندساً ومهندسةً في مقر النقابة ببغداد، إلى جانب العمل المشترك على أوراق سياسات ومسارات استراتيجية مرتبطة بقطاعي الإسكان والبناء والبيئة التنظيمية ذات الصلة في العراق.
كما ألقى المهندس مصطفى المصلح (مدير مشروع بيت من جانب مركز التجارة الدولية) كلمة المركز الافتتاحية للحدث، فيما ألقى كلمة وزارة التخطيط الدكتور محمد محسن السيد، رئيس اللجنة التوجيهية لمشروع بيت والمدير العام لدائرة التنمية الإقليمية والمحلية في الوزارة.
واستمر تمثيل النقابة الى ما بعد حدث الاطلاق حيث حضر المهندس يحيى سامي اليوم الأول من المعسكر التدريبي الذي نفذه مركز التجارة الدولية بالتعاون مع مؤسسة فضاء الموصل للتنمية “موصل سبيس” هادفاً الى تدريب وتحضير الفرق المقبولة لاستكمال طريقهم خلال المسابقة التي يزمع استمرارها لما يقارب شهرين ويخطط ان يكون حدث اختتامها في المركز العام لنقابة المهندسين العراقية ببغداد بعد شهر أيلول من العام الجاري.
تهدف المسابقة إلى تطوير حلول هندسية عملية وذكية مناخياً ومصممة للسياق العراقي لتحسين كفاءة الطاقة في المنازل القائمة، من خلال العزل الحراري، والطاقة الشمسية، والإدارة الذكية للأحمال، وحلول السكن منخفضة الكلفة، والقابلة للتطبيق والتكرار والتوسعة. أتت مشاركة النقابة تأكيداً لدورها الفني والمؤسسي في دعم الابتكار الهندسي، والإسكان المستدام، والبناء الأخضر، وتعزيز مشاركة المهندسين العراقيين في معالجة التحديات الوطنية بحلول عملية قابلة للتنفيذ.

Iraqi Engineers Union Participates in the Launch of the “Green House” Design Competition in Mosul under the EU-Funded BEIT Project
The Iraqi Engineers Union (IEU), represented by its General HQ (Baghdad) and its Ninewa Branch (Mosul), participated on Thursday, 16 July 2026, in the launch of the “Green House” Design Competition held in Mosul, Ninewa Governorate.
The competition is being implemented under the EU-Funded Building Equitable and Inclusive Transformation (BEIT) project by the International Trade Centre (ITC), in partnership with the “Mosul Space” Foundation for Development, with funding from the European Union and under the supervision of the Delegation of the European Union to Iraq.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Planning (MoP); the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works (MoCH); the Ministry of Trade (MoT); the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA); and the International Trade Centre (ITC), in addition to delegations from the IEU General HQ and the IEU Ninewa Branch.
The General HQ (Baghdad) delegation included Dr. Eng. Zaid Ezz Al-Deen Al-Nouri, IEU Vice President; Dr. Eng. Adil Hassan Al-Nuaimi, Head of the Cultural Activities Committee (CAC); and Eng. Yahya Sami Al-Taie, responsible for the International Partnerships and Cooperation Portfolio at the General HQ and CAC member.
The IEU Ninewa Branch was represented by Consultant Eng. Waleed Saadi Al-Nuaimi, Head of the Branch; Consultant Eng. Mohammed Abdulhameed Al-Rawi, Branch Treasurer and Board Member; and Dr. Eng. Bassam Ihsan Al-Hafidh, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department at the IEU Ninewa Branch.
Dr. Eng. Zaid Ezz Al-Deen Al-Nouri delivered the Union’s opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of the institutional cooperation established for more than one year with the International Trade Centre and the Delegation of the European Union to Iraq under the BEIT project. In his word, he noted that this cooperation has contributed to the delivery of four specialized training courses with practical and applied components in Energy Auditing and Solar Energy Systems. Each program was conducted over four days, comprising 16 training hours, and the programs collectively graduated more than 260 male and female engineers at the Union’s HQ in Baghdad. He also highlighted ongoing cooperation on policy papers and strategic initiatives related to the housing and construction sectors and the relevant regulatory environment in Iraq.
Eng. Mustafa Al-Muslih, BEIT Project Manager on behalf of the International Trade Centre, delivered ITC’s opening remarks, while Dr. Mohammed Mohsen Al-Sayyid, Chair of the BEIT Project Steering Committee and Director General of the Regional and Local Development Department at the Ministry of Planning, delivered the Ministry’s remarks.
The Union’s representation continued beyond the launch event, with Eng. Yahya Sami Al-Taie attending the first day of the training bootcamp implemented by the ITC in cooperation with the Mosul Space Foundation for Development. The bootcamp aims to train and prepare the teams accepted at the competition for the next stages, which is expected to continue for approximately two months. The closing event is planned to be held at the Iraqi Engineers Union General HQ in Baghdad after September 2026.
The competition aims to develop practical, climate-smart engineering solutions tailored to the Iraqi context to improve energy efficiency in existing homes. Its areas of focus include thermal insulation, solar energy, smart load management, and affordable housing solutions that are practical, replicable, and scalable.
The Union’s participation reflects its technical and institutional role in supporting engineering innovation, sustainable housing, and green building, while strengthening the contribution of Iraqi engineers to addressing national challenges through practical and implementable solutions.
